Jaipur House Mount Abu

His Highness Maharaja Ram Singh of Jaipur built the Jaipur House at Mount Abu in 1897. He was given the choice of selecting the best site by the then ruler of Sirohi State. Jaipur House was built in serene Rajput architecture on the high cliff over looking the magnificent Nakki Lake and the plateau below. The Present Maharaja of Jaipur, Brigadier Sawai Bhawani Singh, MVC and Her Highness Maharani Padmini Devi have converted this palace into a grand heritage Hotel complete with all the facilities of international standard. As you walk into the grand interiors and are received with gracious warmth, you’ll sense that his is a superior Heritage Hotel.

Bikaner House was the summer residence of the royal family of Bikaner. Constructed in 1893 during the minority of Maharaja Ganga Singhji, the mansion was designed by the legendary architect Sir Swinton Jacob, under the supervision of the Council of Regency. Set on vast grounds amidst tranquil hills, Bikaner House occupied one of the best locations in Mount Abu and was visited regularly by the Maharaja and the royal family. In 1962 Maharaja Karni Singhji decided to convert the royal residence into a hotel.

‘PALACE HOTEL’ as it is now called has been in operation since then. The Place hotel, today a classified ‘Heritage Hotel’ still stands glorious as before – a legacy from the Maharajas of Bikaner.

Palanpur Palace was constructed more than a century ago by Nawab Sher Mohammed Khan of Palanpur state. Later his son Nawab Taley Mohammed Khan took keen interest and further furnished it to make it an ideal summer Palace. The present Iqabal Mohammmed Khan provided more glory and glamour to this palace, to stand out amongst other palaces. It was Nawab Taley Mohammed Khan, who had the noble idea of converting a part of this Palace from 1923 to 1936 for Hotel purpose. It was named “MOUNT HOTEL” and later an Englishman named it as “Hotel Skeltania”.
